2025 Women’s Teaching Cohort Information

What to Expect:
Participants will / may:
- Use the provided planning materials each week to work through a scripture passage of
their choosing. - Learn how to start a lesson or Bible talk, connect with your audience, teach in context,
and prepare an outline. - Discuss the struggles of teaching and preparing a lesson, how to incorporate style and
personality, and determine what you want your audience to leave with. - Week 4 will include breakout sessions to dive further into the topics of teaching children,
youth, or women. - (For those wanting to be included on our recommended speakers list)
Email a video of your sample teaching for feedback. We recommend
doing this in front of a small audience but it can also be done by yourself.
Weekly Breakdown:
Week 1
- How to start/prepare for a Bible talk (materials)
- Teaching in context
- Connecting with your audience
- Each participant will pick a text of Scripture to work through during the cohort
Week 2
- Discuss the struggles of teaching the Bible and putting together a Bible talk
- How to create an outline
- Goals: What do you want the audience to leave with?
Week 3
- Incorporating style and personality
- Working through elements to think about – how to open/start your talk (delivery), connecting
with your audience continued, etc.
Week 4
- Fellowship with each other through a meal
- Breakout Sessions: Teaching Children, Youth, or Women
- Wrap-up / Reflections on what you learned or still struggling with
- Door Prize Drawing
